Madden NFL 10 also lets you take your fight online with an all-new Online Franchise mode, complete with 32 teams, NFL-style drafts and a custom league webpage. Add to that the most immersive broadcast presentation to date, and Madden NFL 10 gives you everything you see on Sundays, minus the grass.

Pro–Tak
This all new animation technology provides unprecedented control over the outcome of every play. Drag defenders towards the first down marker, including up to 9-man gang tackles, fight for a fumble at the bottom of the pile, and evade the rush with all-new quarterback avoidance actions. Enhanced play at the line of scrimmage features a new blocking system that allows the quarterback to step into the pocket and gives the defensive line more control over the rush.

Fight for Online Dominance
One of the major improvements of Madden NFL 10 over its predecessors is its improved online franchise mode. Battle for franchise dominance online with leagues of 32 teams, with functionality featuring real NFL scheduling, live fantasy drafts and draft options, player transactions, league message boards, and more - all manageable from your console or your league's custom web page online, making your Madden NFL 10 online franchise always just a click away. There are even iPhone and other smart phone apps in the making to help Madden fans keep a hand in managing their team when away from their console and computers.

The Extra Point Show
The realism of Madden NFL 10 is about more than just for the action on the field. With the introduction of the game's postgame show, the Extra Point, every game feels even more like a real life gridiron contest. Check out the happenings around your online franchise league with its dynamic, network-style reporting and commentary hosted by Fran Charles and Alex Flanagan of NFL Network. Featuring news and information from each week's games, The Extra Point recaps all the excitement of your franchise.

Online Co-op
For the first time in Madden NFL franchise history, players can team up with a friend online and battle against the CPU. This co-op mode supports the headset accessory for communication in and out of the huddle and allows players to play any position on their squad, switching anytime before the snap of the ball. In addition, the mode features a variety of camera angles specific to the chosen position, allowing players to work on game strategy, practice plays and experience the game from a new point of view.

Madden NFL Your Way
Madden NFL 10 is the most customizable version of Madden NFL to date. Now players can alter gameplay options to adjust the experience to their liking. A revamped play calling system and menu takes you to kickoff faster than ever before. Players in a hurry can even speed up online matches with accelerated clocks, streamlined presentation and more.

Unprecedented Authenticity
From referees peeling players off a fumble pile and the chain gang rushing in to measure for a key first down, to authentic throwing and kicking styles, all-new player equipment and pre-game ceremony for every game, including the Superbowl, players can be sure that if you see it on Sunday, you'll see it in Madden NFL 10.

2 out of 5 stars This game stinks! My first xbox video game regret   September 5, 2010
M. Meckfessel (Dallas TX)
Let me start off by saying that the last football game I owned was Madden '98 on Nintendo 64. I have played newer versions through the years on friends systems and enjoyed them immensely. I decided that I wanted to get a newer on for Xbox360. Being a cheapskate, I decided to wait for Madden '11 to come out and then buy '10 at a cheaper price.

Well now that I have it, I've played a few games with it and it is just flat out terrible. This game has left me more mad and frustrated and I haven't had any fun playing it. At all. This is the first game on Xbox I wished I hadn't spent money on (even though I only spent $20).

My biggest complaint is the A.I. is so wildly inconsistent that it makes the game not fun. On offense I will have a receiver get open, and throw the ball to him and by the time it gets there, 4 other defensive players will have managed to run 40 yds in 2 sec to defend my receiver. Linemen will also only block their assignment for a few seconds before they let up - this means you only have a short time in the pocket. Even when you're a strong team playing a weak team (Colts v. Browns for example). Yet if I'm on defense and the AI receiver gets open, its a touchdown so long as he catches it. My defensive backs can never catch the AI's receivers - regardless of who it is.

Playing on defense is just as worst. The A.I. will just have your defense completely blow their coverage or will even run the opposite way. For instance if a LB drops back in coverage and the computer runs a running play, the LB will continue to stay in coverage instead of going after the running back to the point that he will run away from the back, even if his coverage route takes him right by the back carrying the ball. Or often the receiver will run right by your corner without him moving, and only after he is beat will he start to chase the receiver. Completely unrealistic and inconsistent. The computer offensive line will also hold their blocks and give superior protection than they give you when you're on offense.

I do like the fact that the arcade feel is gone from what I remember back in the day (who remembers those 77-10 games?!!). But at the same time the AI is just too inconsistent for this game to be any fun. I wanted to like this game as I freakin' love football and wanted a good game for the next gen systems to play, but its just terrible and is no fun to play. Only reason I'm giving it two stars is because I think the graphics are pretty good.

2 out of 5 stars WHY in the World   August 30, 2010

Madden 10 is an ok game for x-box 360. If you haven't played the Madden series so far and you have an HD tv it's worth it at its current price. That being said i brought this game for both the PS2 and the X-box 360. originally I brought this for the PS2 thinking i'd try it out and I loved it! great game, feed back on whether the players were living up to their potential, a great franchise ownership game, and QB avoidance that allows you to move the QB so that you don't get sacked. Unfortunately they never ported all of these great ideas to th X-box version. I'm truely shaking my head on this one. Instead the Franchise version on x-box sucks, if you have X-box live you'll be offered the option of buying "cards" that make your players or coaches play better for a game and other options while also showing you advertisements from movies or other venues. They also took away control of your end zone celebrations which is honestly some of the best parts of the game. I haven't played online with the X-box version since i stick to playing with my PS2 version more often but if you're thinking about buying this product please think again. Instead just spend the money on Madden 09 for x-box 360 or check out a playstation version if possible.

5 out of 5 stars Better than madden 11   August 29, 2010

I recently sold madden 11 to get this again, I use madden 11s roster on my madden 10 and much more perfer this game to 11. The graphics are the same suprisingly. I've been a die hard madden fan since the n64 days. Over the years Madden has completely stoped improving game play and just tried to improve graphics and update the roster each year. This is the best madden for the ps3 I highly recremend you get this over 11, if you want to have the madden 11 roster on this one you can its simple to do, no internet required. This game has more of a real feel than the maddens of the past, you wont score 140 points on the cpu everytime so you wont get bored dominating. Bottom line, save your money and buy the better madden, this time the best isnt the latest.

I like this game however I would have liked to have received instructions on how to use controller to move players. But overall have had no problems with this game. I highly recommend it.

My husband is a kid at heart and loves his video games. I purchased this for him after his recent purchase of the 360. He loves it and the challenge of learning it.
